Mary graduated from the Stephens College of Columbia, Missouri and the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. She taught school in the Chester Public Schools and also served on the School Board.
She was united in marriage to Thomas E. (Pat) Boyer on June 3, 1939 and to this union two sons, James L and Thomas A. were born.
She was baptized in the United Methodist Church of Chester and was a member until her passing. She also was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, the Daughters of the Nile and the Kappa Delta Sorority.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Jane Lasby, her brother and her son, Thomas A.
She is survived by her husband, T. E. (Pat) Boyer of the home in Chester, one son, James L. and his wife, Connie of Fairbury, Nebraska, one daughter-in-law, Lois E. Boyer of Borger, Texan; five grandchildren, Trish Boyer Dietz of Lincoln, Nebraska, Scott Boyer of Fairbury, Nebraska; Brenda Sharp of Houston, Texas; Lynda and Judy Boyer of Borgher, Texan; other relatives and a host of friends.
Casket bearers were: Ray Bauer, Junior Ferebee, Keith Frye, Chris Frye, Glenn Sutton and Lorence Kenning. Honorary Casket Bearers were: Ray Roland, Jack Long, Doyall Hartley, Walter (Bill) Moore, Harold Course, and Charles Kleveland.
Funeral services were held at the United Methodist Church of Chester, Nebraska on Wednesday, January 7, 1987 at 2:00 PM, conducted by Reverend Russell Terman. Interment was made in Chester Cemetery.
