Harold Brown Jr, originally of Bolton, Massachusetts and currently of Fairfax, Va., was a 1990 graduate of Nashoba Regional High School, an intern for former Congressman Martin T. Meehan (D-Lowell) and a 1994 graduate of George Washington University. After college, Brown married his college sweetheart and became an Army officer. He worked in intelligence in the Army and left military service with the rank of major, then began a career with the government that took him all over the world. He continued to work in the intelligence field, and spent time in Bosnia, Iraq and Afghanistan, with the State Department. He had been in Afghanistan since April of 2009 of this year but returned stateside briefly in November. He was killed at age 37 when a suicide bomber detonated his explosive vest at a military base in eastern Afghanistan.
