Shelby Ann Fite, resident of Cordell, Oklahoma, was born on April 11, 1994, in Weatherford, Oklahoma, to Michael and Karen (Baker) Fite and passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2009, north of Canute, Oklahoma, at the age of 15.
Shelby attended the Weatherford Schools until she was 10 years old and then moved with her family to Cordell, Oklahoma, in 2003.
She attended Cordell High School, where she was a freshman.
Shelby was an avid basketball player and played on the Lady Blue Devil's basketball team.
Shelby also played softball and enjoyed listening to music.
Shelby attended the Cordell Church of Christ as well as the Cordell First Baptist Church Wednesday night youth group.
Shelby was a social butterfly and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, which she dearly loved.
Survivors include her mother, Karen Kennedy and friend, Robert Jennings, of Cordell, Oklahoma; her father, Michael Fite and wife, Jeanette, of Moore, Oklahoma; three brothers, Elisha Fite and wife Jamie, of Moore, Oklahoma, Dustin Rouse, of Yukon, Oklahoma, and Michael Layne Fite, of Cordell, Oklahoma; one sister, Chelsea Rouse, of Yukon, Oklahoma; grandparents Darrell and Shirley Barker, of Sayre, Oklahoma; two nieces, Kadence Holley and Finley Fite, and a host of family and friends.
Shelby was preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert Earl and Edith Ann Fite.
Funeral services for Shelby Ann Fite will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thurstay, December 31, 2009, at the Cordell Church of Christ, in Cordell Oklahoma, with Gavin Wilkie officiating,
Burial will be in the Carter Cemetery, in Carter, Oklahoma, under the direction of Loftiss-Lee Funeral Home, in Cordell, Oklahoma.
