OBIT:
BELL
Many hearts were saddened here when news was received Tuesday morning by Mrs. T. C. Bell, that her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Paul Bell, had passed away Monday night at her home 1026 University avenue, Tucson, Arizona. She had been ill with flu for several weeks, but was improving and had written to relaives here of her pleasure in feeling better. The wire announcing her death, coming so closely on the receipt of the encouraging report, made the shock to her family and friends harder to bear. Mrs. Bell was Miss Annie Kidd, of Lexington, before her marriage. She was a woman of charming personality, a true Christian, gentle and cultured, and was a general favorite socially during the many years she lived here. A few years ago Mr. and Mrs. Bell moved to Tucson to be with their only son, Dr. T. C. Bell, whose ill health, dating from his service in the World War, compelled him to live in the West. The full particulars of her death have not been received, but it is thought that it must have been an unexpected collapse. The funeral and burial were at Tucson. Mrs. Bell is survived by her husband, Mr. Paul E. Bell, a son, Dr. T. C. Bell, a sister, Mrs. Sewell, of New Orleans; two nieces, Mrs. Hanly Bohon, Harrodsburg; Mrs. Tilden Hill, Nashville, Tenn., these being her nearest relatives. The sympathy of a host of friends in Harrodsburg are with the father and son in their great loss.

OBIT:
BELL
Mr. Paul E. Bell, in a letter to his mother, Mrs. T. C. Bell, and sister, Mrs. Glave Goddard, gave the details of the death of his wife at their home in Tucson, Arizona, a few days ago, which was announced in The Herald last week. Mrs. Bell had been alarmingly ill with flu, but had improved rapidly and seemed well on the road to complete recovery. She had attended a meeting of the ladies' aid society of the Baptist church on Friday, and on Sunday had attended service in the morning, and in the afternoon with Mr. Bell had gone out in their car, making calls on several Kentucky friends in Tucson. Monday morning she said she had enjoyed a good night's rest and seemed much refreshed. Suddenly about 8 o'clock, she was stricken with acute indigestion and when physicians had quieted this pain her heart began to weaken and would not respond to any treatment. She was conscious almost to the last, passing away about midnight. It was her request that she be buried in Tucson. The funeral was held Wednesday with Dr. Beall officiating, and she was laid to rest among many exquisite floral tributes. The closing of this beautiful Christian life is a keen sorrow to a large number of friends here.
