Raleigh Gene Holman, longtime resident of Rocky, Oklahoma, was born on January 28, 1959, in Rocky, Oklahoma, to Lowell Gene and Billie Mignone (Raleigh)Holman, and passed away on Friday, December 25, 2009 with his daughter, Hannah Marie Holman in Rocky, Oklahoma, at the age of 50.
He was married to Rhonda Cupp on April 16, 1983, in Cordell, Oklahoma.
Raleigh was born and raised in Rocky, Oklahoma, and attended the Rocky and Cordell Schools.
He graduated in 1977 and attended the Western Technology Center in Burns Flat, Oklahoma.
Raleigh was previously employed as a mechanic at King-Lindsey in Cordell and Lorenz Implement for many years.
He was currently employed with Midwest Motorsports as a mechanic, which was a job that Raleigh dearly loved.
He served as a Deacon of the Church of the Firstborn in Rocky, Oklahoma.
Raleigh loved his church, his faith, spending time with little children and church fellowship dinners.
He also loved tinkering with his motorcycle and his Trooper.
Raleigh enjoyed road trips on his motorcycle to East Texas and enjoyed going hiking and 4-wheeling in Colorado with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Rhonda, of the home; one son, Buddy Holmand and wife, Misty of Cordell, Oklahoma; one daughter, Jessica Huntzinger and husband, Colten, of Dill City, Oklahoma; his mother Billie Mignone Holman, of Rocky, Oklahoma; Mother-in-law Mavis Cupp, of Cordell, Oklahoma; Mother-in-law Marilyn Cupp, of Little Axe, Oklahoma; and two sisters, Jan Byrd and husband Rex, and Jeri Earley and husband Dana, all of Rocky, Oklahoma.
Raleigh was preceded in death by his father, Lowell Gene Holman, and his infant daughter, Angel Grace Holman.
Funeral services for Raleigh Gene Holman will be held at 2:00 pm., on Wednesday, December 30, 2009, at the Church of the Firstborn in Rocky, Oklahoma, with John Raleigh and Nick Byrd officiating.
Burial will be in the Lone Star Cemetery in Rocky, Oklahoma, under the direction of Loftiss-Lee Funeral Home in Cordell, Oklahoma
