Lindsey Ammons Sims, 69, of Gatesville died Tuesday in the local hospital. He was a retired carpenter and had lived in Coryell County all his life.
Services were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Scott's Funeral Home chapel and were conducted by Rev. D. W. Copeland. Burial was in Restland Cemetery.
Born Sept. 25, 1913, in the Pancake community, Mr. Sims was the son of the late Johnnie and Carrie Sims.
He married the former Ora Fay Taylor on April 6, 1932, and they had resided in Gatesville the last 38 years.
Mrs. Sims died last May.
Mr. Sims was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Lelan Fay Brown of Gatesville; four grandchildren, Jack Brown of Waco, James Brown of Bryan, Jon Brown of Odessa and Miss Janie Brown of Gatesville; and two great-grandchildren.
