An Obituary from "Gatesville Messenger & Star Forum," Friday, December 17, 1965:

Walter J. Schaub, well known Gatesville livestock dealer and trucker, died late last Friday in the local hospital. He was 56 and had lived in Gatesville the last 31 years.
Mr. Schaub had been in failing health for several months and had retired from active business operations.
Funeral services were held at 2 p m Sunday at Scott's Funeral Home and were conducted by Ministers M. K. Pullias and Ray Brock. Burial was in Restland Cemetery.
Mr. Schaub was born near Arnett Dec. 17, 1908, and lived in Coryell County all his life.
He was married to Miss Johnnie Elam Sept. 21, 1930.
He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors are his wife of Gatesville; three daughters, Mrs. Pat Thompson of Okinawa, Mrs. Linda Snoddy of Gatesville, and Mrs. Toni Barr of Rt 3. Gatesville; his mother, Mrs. Antonio Schaub of Gatesville; three brothers, Richard Schaub, Fred Schaub, and G. P. Schaub, all of Gatesville; three sisters, Mrs. Helen Bannert of Brownsville, Mrs . Lydia Koch of Camarilla, Calif., and Mrs. Alma Phillips of Long Beach, Calif., and one granddaughter Lee Ann Snoddy of Gatesville.
Pallbearers for Mr. Schaub's funeral were Floyd Fleming, Troy Lee Hunt, Amos Comer, Bob Cummings, John Schipper, and Stoney Thomas.
