Patricia Carolyn Burr Hulsey, 67, Neosho, departed this life to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009 at her home, surrounded by family. Carolyn was born Sept. 12, 1942 in Neosho, to George M. and Maxine (Duffield Burr and was a lifetime Neosho resident. She earned her teaching degree from SMSU in Springfield. She taught one year in Springfield; two years in Seneca and for the remainder of her career, she taught Home Economics at Neosho High School, retiring after many years of teaching. Mrs. Hulsey was a lifelong member of Northside Baptist Church where she helped maintain the church history and archives; worked on the decorating committee and was a member of the Ladies Sunday School class. She was also active in the local Republican Party, serving on the County Committee for several years. She loved doting on and spending time with her beloved granddaughter, Kaity and took great joy in taking care of her home, her family and sharing laughs with her dear friends. Carolyn and Bill Hulsey were married on Aug. 30, 1963 at Northside Baptist Church and their union was blessed with three children. In addition to Bill, her husband of 46 years, she is survived by her three children, Caroline Smith, Rogers, AR; Heath Hulsey, Kansas City, MO and Courtney Hulsey, Apex, NC; her granddaughter, Kaitlin Smith, Rogers, AR; her father in law and mother in law, Bill and Loydine Hulsey, Neosho and a host of extended family, her church family, close friends and former students who will miss her greatly. Mrs. Hulsey was an only child and she was preceded in death by her beloved parents, George and Maxine Burr.
