Funeral services for Chester Lloyd Hastings, 54, of Chance,OK were held Monday, July 15, at 1 p.m. at Hart Memorial Chapel in Westville with Rev. Terry Guthrie officiating. Burial was in the New Hope Cemetery in Chance.
Chester was born on Dec.1, 1941, in Westville, OK to Horace and Viola Hudson Hudson Hastings. He died Friday July 12, 1996, in Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital. He was a Vietnam veteran, having served in the U.S.Army. He was a retired farmer. He was married to Donna Yeager on Oct. 23, 1963, in Tahlequah. He had lived all his life in the Chance community.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers: Forrest, Harold, Tommy and Billy Hastings.
He is survived by his wife Donna Hastings of the home in Chance, His son, Kenneth Hastings and special friend, Kathy Wright of Westville, His mother-in-law, Doris Fennigan of Grand Terrace, CA, three brothers, Gene Hastings of Westville, James Hastings of Rayville, MO, Joe Hastings of National City,CA, three sisters, Lois Elmore of Westville, Alen Hardwick of Stilwell, Madge Ghormley of Watts.
Some of his great loves were camping and fishing. He enjoyed the love of special children in his life: Paula Vaughn, John David Yeager, Holly and Kyle Teague and Valerie Hastings.
