CLOVIS H. STRICKLIN
Ft. Worth - Clovis H. Stricklin, 86, a long time real estate developer and general contractor passed away in his sleep on 6 December 2001. Funeral services were held at Greenwood Cemetery in Ft. Worth, Texas.
Clovis "Papa" Stricklin was born in Prague, Oklahoma and worked the fields with his parents until moving to Colorado, where he was married to Ruth Mann. They moved to California where they had three children, Alan, Janet, and Tim. While in Calif, Clovis worked for 10 years building airplanes for Lockheed Aircraft. He was always interested in new adventures and after the war moved the family to Flagstaff, Arizona and ultimately got interested in building houses and real estate development. Following another time spent in Calif, he eventually moved to Couer d'Alene, Idaho where he partially retired but continued to be successfully involved in real estate development. He was a loving and responsible husband, caring and proud father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He always had a smile and good word for anyone that ever met him and respected by all who knew him for his character and integrity. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends and all those who knew him. Between 1980 and 1989 Clovis operated the Post Falls Indoor Flea Market were he made thousands of new friends.
Clovis is proceeded in death by his father and mother, Chester and Jean Stricklin. He is survived by his wife Ruth in Couer d'Alene, Id, his brother Alvin and his wife June Stricklin of Couer d'Alene, Id, his sisters Hazel and her husband Ray Poncy, of Bend, Or., Florene and her husband Arnold Erfkamp of Los Angeles, Ca., and Mozelle and her husband John Hood of Aptos, Ca. He is also survived by his sons Alan of Ft. Worth, Texas, Tim and his wife Nancy of Couer d'Alene, Id, and his daughter Janet and her husband Jerry of Post Falls, Id. He is also survived by nine grand children and nine great grand children.
