On Sunday afternoon, December 24, at St. John United Brethren church, a few miles from Petersburg, the funeral service for the late Jacob Getz was held with a large congregation in attendance and with burial being made nearby.. Mr. Getz was bom December 18, 1860 and died at the age of 79 years and 3 days at his home near Pansy.
The funeral service was conducted by the Rev. George W. Strobel, of the Petersburg Lutheran parish, and the funeral arrangements were in charge of the Thrush Funeral Parlors.
The deceased was twice married. His first wife, Persena Greenawalt, died February 23, 1896, with the following children having been bom to this union: Minnie, Myrtle, Edward, Moses, Ira and Delilah.
His second wife, Ida Susan Shreve, survives him and to this union were bom the following children: Rose, Emma, Mabel, Glenn, Dora, Bessie, Charles, Ray, Olie and Harry.
Mr, Getz was widely known throughout Grant and other counties. He was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran church, near Masonville, but for some years had resided in the Pansy section. Our sincere sympathy to all who mourn
