FUNERAL OF MRS. LOUIS TIPPE
The Service for Kansas City Pioneer Will Be Held Today.
Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Tippe, 88 years old, who died Sunday at her home, 3521 Holmes street, will be held at 2:30 o'clock this Tuesday at the home.
The death of Mrs. Tippe removes from Kansas City another pioneer in this community and a steadfast and devout church worker. Born in Girkhausen, Germany, Mrs. Tippe settled in Kansas City with her brothers in 1855.
Mrs. Tippe was well known for her kindness and generosity. Besides her own family she reared six other children whom she took into her home. She was a liberal contributor to the church, to hospitals and charities in Kansas City. Her church, St. Peter's Evangelical, was the center of her activities and she was an active member of that congregation many years.
She was married to John P. Knoche in 1862. He died in 1888. Later she married to Louis Tippe, a real estate dealer, who died in 1924. Since 1907 Mrs. Tippe had lived in her home at 3521 Holmes street. The family lived on a homestead in the East Bottoms until the railroad development took over those lands.
Mrs. Tippe died after an illness of ten days. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Rose Eyssell of the home; three sons, John H. Knoche, Martin City, Mo.; Louis H. Knoche, Belton, Mo., and Joseph Knoche, 6130 McGee street, and a stepson, Dr. John Knoche, Independence.
