Chester was in the Red Arrow Division 42nd squadron of the 32nd Rainbow
Division, 127th Infantry deployed to the Phillipines on the Island of Luzon in WWII.
He lost his face due to a Jap landmine on March 25 1945, at Hill 504 in the worst fighting of the War.
On Villa Verde trail at the headwaters of the Arboredo River, the stronghold of the Japanese army.
He spent 9 years at Valley Forge and received multiple grafts, while there, to reconstruct a quasi face.
He periodically had to return to Valley Forge for touch up work to his face 1954-1964.
He married my mother, Eleanor Northup in 1952.
She is still living at age 95. Well & Healthy.
Chester's cause of death was Bone Cancer, but was caused from his initial Prostate Cancer in 1982.
I am his only child.
