Andrew Joseph Gunn, 88, of Memphis, retired controller, died Sunday at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis. Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Louis Catholic Church, where he was a founding communicant, with entombment in Memorial Park Mausoleum. Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel has charge. He was a World War II veteran, member of Memphis Park Commission Sports Hall of Fame and Knights of Columbus council 616, and graduate of Christian Brothers High School and Memphis State University. Mr. Gunn, the husband of Mary Cundiff Gunn, also leaves a daughter, Patricia G. Whitsitt; two sons, Andrew J. Gunn Jr. and Michael E. Gunn; a sister, Catherine Curry, and a brother, William Louis Gunn, all of Memphis, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
