Paul K. Mollenkopf, 71, of Alliance died at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday at Alliance Community Hospital. He was born in Columbiana Sept. 2, 1929, to Oscar and Mildred (Rummel) Mollenkopf. He was raised in Columbiana. He moved to Alliance in 1981.
A graduate of Columbiana High School, Mr. Mollenkopf attended machinist school. He worked at NRM Rubber in Columbiana for more than 30 years, and also worked at the Alliance Senior Center. He married the former Charlotte Perry in June 1981. She died in 1998. Mr. Mollenkopf was a member of First Christian Church, the Machinists Union and Alliance Senior Center.
Surviving are a son, Richard of Lisbon; a daughter, Sherree Mollenkopf of Lisbon; four stepsons, Jerry and Kerry Messenheimer and Billy H. and Danny Kent; a stepdaughter, Lorie Applegate; two brothers, Jerry of Georgia and Charles of Florida; two sisters, Elaine Gleckler of Tennessee and Joyce Sanders of Columbiana; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents and a sister, Ellen Nelson.
Services are at 11 a.m. Monday at Cassaday Turkle Christian Funeral Home with the Rev. Rick Boyd officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call the hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Alliance Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice, 885 S. Sawburg Ave., Suite 106, Alliance.
