(LANETT) Onnes "O.G." Luker, 98, of Lanett died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008, at West
Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange, Ga.
Services will be Wednesday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m. at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral
Home Chapel, Valley, with the Rev. Steve Langley officiating. Burial will follow
at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Lanett.
Mr. Luker is survived by two daughters, Jackie Blair of Huguley and Diane Bell
of Valley; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren;
and many nieces and nephews.
Born May 1, 1910, in Randolph County, Mr. Luker was the son of the late Laura
Shaw Luker and Wyly Luker. He was a retired employee of WestPoint Pepperell's
Lanett Bleachery and Dye Works and a member of WestPoint Pepperell's 50 Year
Club. Mr. Luker was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a faithful
member of Sunset Heights Baptist Church and a good neighbor. Mr. Luker was
preceded in death by his wife, Vera E. Luker; his daughters, Sue Taylor and Dot
Daniels; his son, Gerald Luker; his grandsons, Ricky Curtis and Jonathan Luker;
and his great-grandson, Brooks
Heath.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, Dec. 16, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Johnson
Brown-Service Funeral Home, Valley.
