He served with the 630th Engineer Company, 14th Engineer Battalion, 45th Engineer Group, 18th Engineer Brigade, USARV Eng Cmd, USARV as a Grader Operator.
Francis was "Killed In Action" as a result of a Multi-Fragment Wound in the Quang Tri Province, South Vietnam.
He was awarded the Purple Heart.
He is honored on Panel 12W, Row 117 of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Washington, D.C.
