Mrs. Ida Johnston, 79, former resident of the Flat community, died Saturday afternoon at her home in Austin.
Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Ollie Williams, were held at 10 a. m. Tuesday in Scott's Funeral Home chapel.
Burial, was in the Restland Cemetery.
Mrs. Johnston, the former Miss Ida Rollins, was born in Arkansas Jan. 30, 1879, but lived in the Flat-The Grove area from early childhood until 1958, when she moved to Austin.
She was married to R. F. (Bob) Johnston Dec. 10, 1896. He died in 1953.
Mrs. Johnston was a member of the First Baptist Church of Flat.
She is survived by a granddaughter, Mrs. Bobbie Lockaby of Flat; a grandson, Truett Bishop of Temple; two nieces, Mrs. Owen Schnell and Mrs. P. E. Wimberly, both of Austin;
a nephew, R. F. Parten of Marlin; eight great-grandchildren
and one great-great-grandson.
Pallbearers for Mrs. Johnston's funeral were T. H. Poe, Owen Schnell, Lee Ingram, Wilson Henderson, R. F. Parten and J. O. Schnell.
