An Obituary from "Gatesville Messenger & Star Forum," Friday, November 17, 1961:

Guy Earl Hughett, 62, farmer in the Pancake community, died at 9:30 a. m. Wednesday in the local hospital. He had suffered a heart attack at his home two hours earlier.
Funeral services were held at 3:30 p. m. Thursday at Scott's Chapel, Rev. Ferrel Little and Rev. Billy Mac Patterson officiating. Burial was in the Restland Cemetery.
Mr. Hughett was born March 11, 1899, at Plantersville. He was married to Miss Eva Herrington Dec. 10, 1922, and they resided in the Jonesboro-Turnersville area most of their married life. Their home has been at Pancake the last 14 years.
Mr. Hughett was a member of the Turnersville Methodist Church.
Survivors are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Alvis Suggs of Jonesboro and Mrs. Clarence Beasley of Gatesville; six sisters, Mrs. D. F. Patteson and Mrs. Herbert Lierman of Waco, Mrs. Olan Johnson and Mrs. Martin Harmon of Oakdale, Calif., Mrs. Paul Hinson of Gatesville and Mrs. James Rutland of Lufkin; three grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
