The family moved to Prinveville, Cottage Grove, Merlin, then back to Klamath County in the early 1900's. They built a home at Shippington. He freighted and then logged with his son Frank.
They were the parents of eight children; Ella, Ivan, Ida, Ethel Ann, Carl Clifford, Washington Irvin, Frank Lincoln and Hester Susanna Yancey.

Mother Hester Harris Rhode Yancey, Father Seymour Rhode. They married in Warren Co. Indiana 1854. They lived in Vernon Co. MO 1865 when Seymour died. Her mother then married Hiram J. Yancey Jr. May 10, 1867, 1873 moved to Lander Co. Nevada. 1890 settled in Fairbury, Jefferson, NE. Hester died March 20, 1920. Fairbury, NE.
