Mrs. Betty Parnell, age 67 of Cotter passed away Monday, December 28, 2009 at Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House. Betty was born June 15, 1942 in Broseley, Missouri to Howard L. and Josie (Trout) Hayes. She married Leon "Snake" Parnell September 16, 1964 in Yellville, AR. She was an LPN for over 40 years and school nurse at Mountain Home Public Schools. Betty was an artist and a lover of theatre arts. She was an avid reader, and a devoted sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
Mrs. Betty Parnell is survived by 3 sons: Larry (Charlotte) Parnell of Harrison, AR; Gary (Jana) Parnell of Mountain Home, AR, and Micky (Susan) Parnell of Mountain Home, AR; 1 daughter: Becky (Barry) Price of Flippin; 6 grandchildren: Jettie, Drew, Nichlaus, Cole, Benjamin, and Montana; 1 great-granddaughter, Sierra, 4 sisters: Thelma Hill, Lou Wilson, Ruth Winberry, and Harriet Hayes, and 1 brother: Howard Hayes, Jr. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 sisters Rosetta Hayes, Opal Lee Hayes, her twin Jetty Keller; and 3 brothers: Lloyd and twins Floyd and Glen.

Visitation for Mrs. Parnell will be Wednesday from noon – 9 PM at Roller Funeral Home with the family receiving friends 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be 10 AM Thursday at Roller Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. David Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Galatia Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks.
