Patrick Kimsey, son of David Kimzey and Elizabeth Hamilton, was born in Kentucky. He married Margaret McCluskey on 1 Dec 1847 in Kentucky and they settled in Fremont County, Iowa, in 1852.
At the age of 22 he was converted and united with the Baptist Church and at the time of his death was a member of the organization at Percival, Fremont County, Iowa.
Patrick and Margaret had ten children: John R, Martha J (Greenlee), Rose M (Henderson), Elizabeth H (Cunningham), Andrew E, Alonzo, Nancy M, Hannah Ellen (Hill), Cordelia A (Lake), Giles O.
Patrick Kimsey died at the home of his son, A.E. Kimsey in Shenandoah, Page County, Iowa. His remains were interred in the McKissick (Acord) Cemetery beside his wife, who died in 1891.
