Nathan Rosencrans Gibson was born in Schuyler county, Mo., July 7, 1863, and departed this life at his home in Lancaster, Mo., March 15, 1939, at the age of 75 years, 8 months and 8 days. He was the son of Fletcher and Phoebe Gibson. He was united in marriage to Miss Etta Jones who preceded him in death. To this union one son was born, Elza Gibson of Ottumwa, Ia.
On June 5, 1887, he was married to Mary Shipman. To this union three children were born Mrs. Bessie Jeffries, Harvey and Junior Gibson all of Lancaster. The above, also his aged wife and nine grand children, two great grand children and a host of other relatives and friends mourn his passing.
Mr. Gibson was received into the Mount Zion Methodist church in infancy.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Lyle L. Gaither at the M. E. church Thursday afternoon, March 16 at 2:30 and interment was in the S. N. Arni Memorial cemetery.
