Specialist Fifth Class Richard Samuel Dennison, age 20, was from Bethel, Delaware.
He graduated from Laurel High School, class of 1968, and then went to vocational school and learned drafting. After school he went to work at Dupont's.
He served with 180th ASHC, 268th CAB, 17th CAG, 1 Avn Bde as a Aircraft Maintenance Apprentice and started his tour of duty on May 1, 1970.
Rick was on Chinook helicopters as a flight engineer. He wasn't even supposed to be on this flight. He took another guys place who had gotten drunk the night before and was hungover. That was the kind of guy he was.
He was "Killed In Action" during the crash of that helicopter in the Binh Dinh, South Vietnam during the Vietnam War.
Richard is honored on Panel 4W, Row 23 of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Washington, D.C.
