Ben Pearson, a native of Paron, Arkansas, is considered "The Father of Modern Archery". Beginning his interest in the 1920's, Ben is credited with designing or helping develop the first machines used in the mass production of archery equipment. In 1938 he co-founded Ben Pearson Archery with businessman Carl Haun of Oklahoma to become the worlds largest manufacturer of Archery equipment for three decades. In the 1950's Ben & his company developed the molded fiberglass bow. Pearson was noted for his deadeye accuracy in competitive circles, unbelievable archery exhibitions across the country, and for his hunts for wild game across the North American continent and Mexico. He was inducted in 1972 as a charter member of the Archery Hall of Fame and later several other Halls including the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame in 1999.
