Willie "Mickey" J. Murphy, 71, of Edgar, died Oct. 3 in the Palatka Health Care Nursing Facility following a brief illness.
He was born in Edgar and lived there all his life. He was known as "Mickey" and attended Oak Grove School in Edgar. He was a retired laborer.
Survivors include a brother, Jerry Murphy of Florahome; and a sister, Naomi De Sue of Starke.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Mt. Bethel Baptist Church in Edgar with the Rev. Joseph H. Strickland Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Gilgal Cemetery in McMeekin under the care of Smith's Funeral Home in Hawthorne. There will be no viewing after the eulogy. (Palatka Daily News Obituary dtd 9 Oct 1992.)
