Frances Wilma Mercer Alvey, 78, of Aiken, S.C., died Saturday, Aug. 23, 2003, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.
Born in Woodriver, Ill., she had lived in Aiken since 1999.
Mrs. Alvey is survived by two daughters, Pamela Harmon and Brenda Anne Alvey; four grandchildren, Sandy Spence, Michelle Wallace, Alan Harmon and Becky Harmon; four great-grandchildren, Devin Gunkler, Jessie Gunkler, Jordan Wallace and D.J. Spence; a sister, Marie Bray of Oregon; and by a brother, Raymond Mercer of Alton, Ill.
The funeral was to be at 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 25, 2003, in the chapel of Shellhouse Funeral Home in Aiken with Alan Harmon officiating.
Burial will follow later at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
The family requests that any memorials be in the form of donations to a church or charity of the donor's choice.
