Calvin Baxter Lindsey, of Newport, born September 5, 1943 went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 17, 2008. Calvin had been on kidney dialysis for 6 ½ years, and he also suffered with emphysema.
Calvin was preceded in death by his father Francis Lindsey; and step-mother, Gordon Lindsey.
He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Lindsey; children, David Lindsey stationed at Camp Tallil; Melinda and Mike Ramsey of Parrottsville, Carolyn and Byron Ellison of Newport; step-children, Tina and Burnett Duncan, Tommy and Kim Price all of Newport; grandchildren, Adam and Caleb Ellison of Newport, Emily and Justin Ramey of Parrottsville, Morgan and Lucas Price, LeAnn and Joshua Duncan of Newport; one great-grandson, Matthew Ellison; and many other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 8:00 pm, Tuesday, October 21, 2008 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Leon Large officiating. Burial will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, October 22, 2008 in Waters-Large Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 6-8pm Tuesday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral service.
