Flora R. Grant, 82, of Enola, passed away peacefully on the morning of December 24, 2009 at the Holy Spirit Hospital, she is now with the Lord.
Flora was born on October 26, 1927 in Harrisburg, she was raised with 4 other siblings as Romanian Orthodox and later belonged to Epworth United Methodist Church. She enjoyed the Slavic dances and cooking the ethnic foods. She graduated from William Penn High School and shortly married and she raised 3 children. She retired from the Harrisburg City Public Works Department as an executive secretary.
Flora enjoyed bus trips to Atlantic City, attending church, gardening and keeping up with current events and she liked meeting old friends at the Serbian Park and still would dance.
She mostly enjoyed family gatherings and talking to the grandchildren.
She will be sadly missed by family and friends. She will be remembered for cutting newspaper clippings for Life Lessons for the grandchildren and making and giving food for family and friends.
She also will be remembered for giving out candy to anyone and saying, "You know why you should eat this candy? Because it will make you smile," and then grin.
She was preceded in death by her son, Albert "Albie" Cochran Jr.; 3 brothers, Jim, John and Michael Bobish; and sister, Rose Bobish.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Linda Kuharic, of Summerdale, and Marianne Cochran-White, of West Hanover Twp.; sister, Julie Kamphause, of Michigan; 4 grandchildren, Randie Kuharic, John Kuharic, Michael White and John White; and a great grandson, Braelen Cassel.
A viewing will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 30, 2009 in the Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry St., Harrisburg, followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
