Captain Wright was from Seaford, Delaware.

He was the pilot of a B-26B Invader bomber with the 729th Bomber Squadron, 452nd Bomber Wing.

On September 17, 1951, while on a daylight reconnaissance mission in "Area CT", the last contact with the aircraft was made when it was over Hoengsong Airfield (K-46).

He was listed as "Missing in Action" and was presumed dead on November 11, 1953.

Charles was awarded a Silver Star, the Distinguished Flying Cross with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters, the Bronze Star, the Air Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters, and a Purple Heart.

He was the most decorated veteran from Delaware during the Korean War.

Others on the flight also reported missing included: David C. Hearn, William J. Lewis, Frederick P. Pelser, and Frank NMI Stefas.
