Private Taylor was from Seaford, Delaware.

His basic training was completed at Fort Knox, Kentucky. He shipped out by train to Washington state, and from there by ship to Japan. Very soon after he arrived in Japan, the war broke out in Korea and he was promptly sent to Korea.

He was a member of the 34th Infantry Regiment, 24th Infantry Division, U.S. Army.

He was "Killed In Action" while fighting the enemy near Taejon, South Korea.
