Private First Class Robertson was from New Castle County, Delaware.

He was a member of Company I, 3rd Battalion, 180th Infantry Regiment, 45th Infantry Division.

He was listed as "Missing in Action" while fighting the enemy in North Korea on June 13, 1952. It is strongly believed that he was captured and became a Prisoner Of War.

He was presumed dead on December 31, 1953.

He was awarded a Purple Heart and the Prisoner Of War medal.
