Fenton Ellsworth Bollman, 93, died Thursday at his home. Mr. Bollman was born Feb. 28, 1875, in Winneshiek County, Iowa. He completed high school at Postville, Iowa, and studied at the Upper Iowa University, later taking a business course at Decorah, Iowa. He was married Oct. 13, 1897, to Jennie A. Robinson of Decorah. He farmed near Castalia, Iowa, for several years before ill health caused him to give up farming and move to Pomona, Calif. He moved to Caldwell in 1909 and located in Middleton where he farmed and was a carpenter. He moved to the sagebrush area near Wilder in 1913, and farmed there until moving to Caldwell in 1917. He was in the automobile business here for 24 years, when he retired. Mr. Bollman was a city councilman from the First Ward for two terms. He was a charter member of the Kiwanis Club. He was active in civic affairs and a member of Boone Memorial Presbyterian Church since moving here.
Surviving are two brothers, Scranton F. Bollman of Notus and E.O. Bollman of San Francisco; a sister, Mrs. Vera L. Post of Spokane, Wash.; and a niece, Mrs. Robert Ryder of Boise. His wife died Nov. 4, 1961, and he was also preceded in death by a son, Harold F. , and two brothers, Talcott and Vives Bollman.
