Spencer Lonnie Poynter was my great Uncle. He was born Dec 23, 1889 in Edmonton, Metcalfe Co, Kentucky to Mary Susan Boston (1866-1903)and Charles Michael Poynter (1852-1926). He was one of four children of this union: Brothers: Rufus Herbert Poynter (1892-1978), Louis Charles Poynter (1903-1883)and one sister, Lelia Daisy Mae Poynter also known as Aunt Sis (1895-1983). The family moved to Indianapolis, IN when the children were small. Their mother died six weeks after Louis was born. Father Charles Michael "Mike" was well liked. Mary Susan Boston was his second wife. His first was Frances "Charley" Mitchell and they had five children before she died in 1884. Spencer Lonnie was a very successful writer and advertising executive.
