Atta "Lorene" Higgs was born April 19, 1909, in Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana, the daughter of Edgar Elmo Higgs and his second wife, Francis Lane Higgs.

Lorene never married. She was trained as a Census Worker in 1960 (article that her obtained photo was obtained from). Lorene worked in the Marion County Municipal Court, her last position was a secretary to Judge William T. Sharp of the Municipal Court 4. She retired in 1984.

Lorene died December 10, 2001, in Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana.

LORENE HIGGS, 92, Indianapolis, died Dec. 10. She was a judicial specialist 19 years for Marion County Municipal Court, retiring in 1894. Services: Dec. 12 at 9:15 a.m. in G. H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. in St. John Catholic Church, of which she was a member. Calling: 5 to 7 p.m. Dec. 11 in the funeral home. Burial: Crown Hill Cemetery. Survivors: cousins Dorothy Thomas, Eddie, Bob Higgs.
