DALE CLAY, FIREMAN, ILL 5 WEEKS, DIES
Dale Clay, 32 years old, 423 South Arlington Avenue, a member of the Indianapolis fire department eight years, died early Friday morning after an illness of about five weeks. Mr. Clay was born in 1896 in Connersville but had lived in Indianapolis nearly all his life. He joined the Indianapolis fire department in 1920 and had been a private in Company No 19 since. He was stationed at the Morris and Harding streets engine house. Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Ruth Clay, and a baby daughter born the day that he died.
Three sisters and a brother also survive.
Funeral services will be held at two o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the home with members of the fire department in charge. Pallbearers, all of whom are fire department members, will be Guy Lewis, Herbert Quack, John Lanahan, Buck Ray, Guy Darland and R. C. Wallace. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
