Charles B. Clarke, age seventy-eight, an Indianapolis attorney fifty-five years, died today at his home on Guilford Avenue after an illness of three months.
Mr. Clarke had lived in Indianapolis since 1884. He was a native of Martin County and was active in Democratic affairs. He was affectionately known as "Old HIckory."
Survivors are two brothers, Walter C. Clarke and Oscar M. Clarks, and two sisters, Miss Bertha Clarke and Miss Union Grimes, all of this city. His wife, Mrs. Grace Julian Clarke, died a year ago. Before her death, they lived in Irvington many years.
