Caroline Dunn followed in her father's footsteps as an Indiana historian. For 50 years she was Secretary of the Society of Indiana Pioneers. She earned degrees from Butler University and Columbia University, the latter in library science. She was a reference librarian at the Indiana State Library and librarian of the W. H. Smith Library of the Indiana Historical Society, 1939-1973. She was an awarded an honorary doctorate by Indiana University in 1973. She was a caring and kind individual who generously shared her immense knowledge of Indiana history.
