Funeral services for Mrs. Octa Belle Durrett, 90, were held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 19, in the Spicer Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating was the Rev. Kenneth Metzger, pastor of the First United Methodist Church here.

Mrs. Durrett passed away Friday night in Hall County Hospital.

Burial was in the IOOF Cemetery at Lakeview under the direction of Spicer Funeral Home.

Mrs. Durrett was born Dec. 5, 1885, in Alexandria, La., and was united in marriage to B.E. Durrett in Jones County in 1904. She moved to Hall County in 1917 and was a member of the First United Methodist Church at Lakeview.

Survivors include: one son, V.C. "Zip" Durrett of Lakeview; one sister, Mrs. Joe Dillingham of Hamlin; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were grandsons, Duane Byars, Richard Gower, Brady Durrett, Rene Fears, Jimmy Gibson and Scotty Lindley.
