The body of Mrs. Lucille Mays Bailey, colored, age 22, who died at her home in Springfield, Tenn., of double pneumonia, has been brought to this city for burial. Mrs. Bailey was the only daughter of Mrs. Mary E. Mays, district nurse of the Indianapolis Flower Mission, and was the wife of Dr. Walter T. Bailey. She was ill four days. She was a native of Indianapolis, where she attended school before taking a course in the preparatory school of Howard university, Washington, D. C., after which she completed a course in the nurses' training school at the Freedmen's hospital in Washington. She returned to this city and assisted her mother in caring for charity patients. Her husband, Dr. Bailey, is a native of Indiana and is a brother of the Rev. J. L. Bailey, former pastor of Simpson chapel, M. E. church. An only brother, Garrold Mays, is at Los Angeles. The funeral will take place at the home of Mrs. Mays, 1043 North West street, Wednesday, at 2 o'clock. - Indianapolis News.
Mrs. Bailey was the sister-in-law of Mrs. Fred Thurman of this city and had many friends and relatives in Henry county.
