Charles L Bowers, 84, of Scioto Street, Urbana, died Monday, May 15, 1995 at 6:54 pm in Mercy Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Cable, Ohio on December 16, 1910, the son of Charles and Maude Agnes (Thompson) Bowers.
He began a career in insurance as an agent with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, later formed his own company, the Charles Bowers Insurance Company, for over 25 years.
Following retirement he was most recently associated with Brand Neer Frantz Stallsmith Insurance Company.
Member of Independent Insurance Agents of America and a member of Urbana United Methodist Church.
He is survived by daughters and son-in-law, Dolly and Richard Wisma, of Urbana, Ohio and Dotty Zeilman, of Cable, Ohio; six grandchildren, Stevon Warner, Susan Warner, Sharon Williams, Charles Bowers Zeilman, Lincoln Zeilman and Lucille Zeilman Wood; 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Lincoln Bowers in 1973; son-in-law, John M. Zeilman, in 1993; and by his sister, Mary Bowers, in 1994.
Family will receive friends from 6-9 pm Wednesday at Walter-Schoedinger Funeral Home, Urbana, where services will be held at 10 am Thursday with Joseph Wood and Lincoln Zeilman of The Way International Ministry, officiating. Burial to follow in Woodstock Cemetery.
