ATHOL- Marilyn E. (Treworgy)(Shane)(Clark) Howard, 78, of 31 Charles Place, died Sunday evening, February 10, 2008 at St. Vincent's Hospital- Worcester Medical Center, Worcester.

Born on June 15, 1929 in West Paris, Maine, she was a daughter of Earle W. and Myrtle A. (Dean) Treworgy.

Her last husband, Clyde D. Howard, whom she married on October 3, 1975, died on November 10, 1981.

Marilyn was a long time woodworker, as well as finisher and decorator.
She was a former member of the Lake Wyola Association and had served as a secretary, a former member of the Literacy Volunteer program and was named Tutor of the Year 1991-1992, volunteered for the Brown Bag program, as well as volunteering for the SHARE program also.
Marilyn also took part in the Athol Senior Arts class, was a member of the Athol Council on Aging, and was also a member of the Red Hat Society, "Ravishing Rubies".

Survivors include a son, Michael E. Shane, of Shutesbury; a step daughter, Sandra Rodzik, of Winchester, NH; a foster son, Andy Torres of Greenfield; grandchildren, Judith Foote Zebrowski, Jason Foote, Sarah Foote Rekully, Andy Torres, and Julian Torres; several great grandchildren; and distant family members.

Calling hours will be held on Friday evening, February 15, 2008, from 6-8PM at Witty's Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange.

A graveside service will be held in the spring in the Plainview Cemetery in North Leverett at a time and date to be announced.
