AGED RESIDENT OF SHAWNEE TP DIES OF STROKE

William T. Yoakam, 93, the oldest resident of Shawnee tp. died at his home two miles north of Hume at 9 p.m. Saturday after an illness of one day. He had suffered a paralytic stroke early Saturday morning.
Yoakam was born and reared in Shawnee tp. and lived on the same farm all his life with the exception of two years during which time he resided near Ft. Amanda. He was a successful farmer.
The desceased is survived by two sons, A. W. Yoakam, of Lima, and E. C. Yoakam of Hume, and four daughters, Miss Jennie Yoakam at home; Mrs. George B. Shaffer, Bridgeport, Ill.; Mrs. Frank Redick, Iraan, Tex., and Mrs. Arlie Heffner, Lima Route 1. Two brothers and one sister also survive as well as 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The brothers are Joseph of Lima, and Charles, of Kent, and the sister is Mrs. Lila Thompson, Convoy.
Funeral services will be arranged upon the arrival of the daughter living in Texas. The body will be taken from the Umbaugh Funeral Home in Cridersville to the family home Sunday afternoon.
