Funeral services were held Saturday for Richard Leroy Bybee, a 68-year-old Buffalo resident who passed away quietly in his sleep early Wednesday morning at his home south of Buffalo. Rev. Clay Alexander officiated. Burial followed in Willow Grove Cemetery with graveside services.

Bybee was born May 11, 1941, in Vona, CO. As a young child he moved to Kaycee with his parents, Gordon and Iva Lee Bybee and the rest of the family. When he was old enough for school the family moved to Buffalo where he grew up. He graduated from Johnson County High School on Sept 16, 1962.

Bybee was married in Sheridan to Myrna Stiles and they made their home in Buffalo. He learned to be a carpenter working for Jack O'Leary and Yorkie Walters and later went into business with his father building homes in Buffalo. He retired in 2004 and continued living in Buffalo until the time of his death.

He was a member of the Big Horn Baptist Church and was an avid horseshoe player. He loved to play volleyball and softball. He also enjoyed playing pool in his younger years. A favorite pastime of Richard's was mowing his lawn on his riding mower.

He is survived by his wife Myrna of Buffalo; two sons, Matthew (Erin) Bybee and Richard Darren Bybee; daughters, Valerie (Jerry) Pryor, Juanita Bybee and Anita Bybee; brothers, Dave Bybee and Brad Bybee; one half brother, Wayne Balanga; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.

Donations in Bybee's name may be made to the Big Horn Baptist Church in care of the Adams Funeral Home at 351 N Adams in Buffalo.
