James Ira Fagan, 91, of Gatesville died March 5 at Scott and White Hospital in Temple.
Services were held March 18 at Scott's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. D.D. Ramsey officiating. Burial was in Restland Cemetery.
Born July 17, 1896 in Comanche, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James R. Fagan. He was reared and attended school in the Comanche area.
He married Gladys Owana Fry in 1919. They made their home in the Pidcoke area, later moving to Killeen then to Anson. They moved to Gatesville in 1975.
Mrs. Fagan died in 1982.
He was a retired piano tuner, a veteran of WW I and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.
He is also preceded In death by one son, Donald.
Survivors include one son, James Ronald Fagan of Austin; one sister, Mrs. Vertie Tidwell of Anson; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers at the funeral were K.R. Fry, Jack Fry, Ray Sommerfeld, Raymond Leonard, Jimmy Green, Larry Fry and Larry Don Carothers.
