Stanley Palmer Bennion, age 73, our loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, passed away following a lingering illness on April 27, 1990 in Salt Lake City, Utah.


Born March 3, 1917 in West Jordan, Utah to William Ellis and Effie Palmer Bennion.


Stanley was born and raised on the family farm in Bennion, Utah and attended Jordan High School, where he served as student body president during the 1935-1936 school year. Later, he attended the University of Utah on a football scholarship.


On July 2, 1940, he married Evelyn Snape in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.


He served in the US Navy during WW II and worked for Greyhound bus lines for forty-one years. An active member of the Parley's Second Ward of the LDS Church, where he served as a home teacher and as an active High Priest. He enjoyed gardening, golfing, fishing, and camping with his family.


He is survived by his wife, daughter; Mrs. Michael S. (Bonnie) Knudsen, two sons: S. Richard and Kathleen Bennion, and Brian W. and Vicki Bennion. Preceded in death by his daughter Shauna. He has ten grandchildren and two great-grandsons. He is survived by six brothers: Vernon, Wayne, Morris, Paul, Kenneth, and Rex. Preceded in death by brothers Bill and Don.


Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 1990 at 12:00 p.m. in the Parley's Second Ward Chapel, 1970 East Parley's Canyon Boulevard. Friends may call at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive (1495 East), East Millcreek, on Monday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Tuesday at the Ward Chapel from 10:45-11:45 a.m.
Burial: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
