Boonville, Jan. 26 — Herbert M. Wheelock, second son of the late Col. Charles and Lucy Jones Wheelock, died at his former home in Boonville on Tuesday afternoon, aged 62 years.
Mr. Wheelock was born at the Wheelock homestead, near Black river, and lived in this village for more than forty
years. He was a member of Salem Town lodge, No. 326, F. & A. M., of Cayuga.
In 1884 Mr. Wheelock married Miss Henrietta A. Dewey of Boonville. For two years he was engaged in the grocery
business in this village and for some fifteen years following in company with his brother-in-law, Fred L. Guillaume, conducted the N. Y. C dining rooms at Cayuga and Utica, retaining an interest in the latter place until his death. The past two years were spent in Buffalo in the restaurant business, in company with a brother-in-law, George L. Griffith.
Besides his widow, the surviving relatives are a sister, Mrs. E. L. Clark of Brooklyn and two brothers, Morton Wheelock of Lee and Forrest J. Wheelock of Boonville. The funeral services were held at his former home in Charles street at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon, in charge of the Masonic order, the Rev. T. F. Jessup officiating.
