Services: Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at College Church of the Nazarene at 10:00am with Dr. Allen Dace officating.
Visitation: Monday, December 28, 2009 from 4:00 to 8:00pm at the Kankakee Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes and one hour prior to the funeral service at College Church of the Nazarene on Tuesday.

Donald William Bailey, 62 of Kankakee, IL. passed away at Riverside Medical Center on December 25, 2009 after a sudden illness.

He was born in Chicago, IL. the son of the late Floyd and Leora Harris Bailey. Donald married Karen Rowe Kanosky on July 16, 1988 at the Methodist Church in Gilman, IL. Karen still resides in Kankakee.

He was a teacher and guidance counselor at Bradley Bourbonnais High School for 32 years and retired in 2004. Prior to his job at the high school, for five years Donald worked at the IC Railroad to earn money for college.

He served his country in the US Army in Vietnam from Oct 14,1970 to April 21,1972 His decorations include the National Defense Services Medal and Vietnam Services Medal.

Donald is a member of College Church of the Nazarene in Bourbonnais, IL., NRA, Kankakee VFW, and the Together in Christ Sunday School class.

Donald's family includes sons; Bryan Bailey of Glendale, AZ., Marc (Nicole) Bailey of Kankakee, IL., Scott Bailey of Kankakee, IL., and one daughter; Megan Bailey of Kankakee, IL. two grandchildren, Christopher and Hannah Bailey, one brother, Paul (Jean) Bailey of Bloomington, IL., one sister; Clarice (David) Roach of Platte City, MO., and one uncle; Albert Harris of Momence, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, John Bailey.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials are for Center of Hope Food Pantry or his children's education.
