Jesse died after 10 days illness of pneumonia. For over 30 years he was the leading florist and gardener in the Pittston area. He was a councilman of Exeter borough for several terms. During the Rebellion he answered the call for volunteers and did gallant service. He is survived by his wife and two children, Jesse B Jr of West Pittston, and Mrs. W. H. Kennedy of Dubuque, Iowa. Jesse was in the 28th Regiment, Pennsylvania Infantry Co N fighting on the Union side.
