Adeline Vosen Howser Pepper Johnston, 97, died Jan. 23, 2009 at her son's home in Spokane, Wash.
She was born June 21, 1914 to John and Ann Vosen at the family homestead west of Big Sandy. She attended school in Big Sandy and graduated from Northern Montana College in Havre with a teaching degree in elementary education.
She enjoyed gardening and playing bridge and pool with her friends.
She is survived by four children, Duane Howser of Enumclaw, Wash.; Carol Tonjum and husband Paul of Havre; William Pepper and wife Linda of Libby; and Robert Pepper and wife Patty of Spokane; 14 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
